Mass. Police Gets Grenade Launchers Federal program donates surplus weapons

This is insane!!

I don't trust these assclowns with tazers & you're gonna give them grenade launchers? Like other law enforcers, West Springfield officers carry the usual handguns, handcuffs, pepper spray and ammunition.

Unlike most police departments, this particular police force is also equipped with 2 grenade launchers, 4 M-14 semi-automatic rifles and one M-21 sniper rifle.

According to the Boston Globe, West Springfield is one of 82 Massachusetts police departments that have obtained military surplus weapons over the last 15 years as part of a federal program.

Two DMPD (Des Moines, Iowa) thugs 'resigned' after beating a man and his girlfriend with ASP batons when they 'refused to comply' with their 'instructions'. The couple was aquitted of resulting charges and the thugs resigned after an internal investigation showed they had lied to its investigators about the events leading up to the police-administered beating.

And...

A 21 year-old honors pre-med student was killed by a Polk County (Iowa) deputy sheriff when the kid threatened to kill himself. The deputy fired (he 'thought') 'less than lethal' (LOL) bean bag rounds after the young man layed his revolver on the roof of his car and began to surrender. Unfortunately, at least one of the rounds was not a bean bag...it was a hard polymer 'breacher' round used to penetrate automobile windshields. These rounds are not issued or approved by the PCSO for use by its deputies. The deputy and SO are stating the incident was 'an accident' and they 'have no idea' how the unapproved munitions found their way into the deputy's gear. Department administrators state the incident was a 'one-in-a-million' tragedy. The kid, however, remains 100% dead.

And...

Another deputy from the same office resigned after being charged with stealing baseball cards from a retail card seller...while the deputy was in uniform.

When our guns are eventually confiscated, I will resort to calling 911...and beg them to send a crack-intoxicated pimp with his razor, instead of a cop.

Thanks for the video. I was hoping to find one. If it is a felony, with the District Attorney for the County/District. This looks like a possible felony to me. If a misdemeanor, with the County Attorney. It could also be a violation of federal law, so the U.S. Attorney for the district would also be appropriate. Based on this video and news reports I have read, this appears to be an outrageous case and should be prosecuted. The woman is not armed, is 4/11 inches tall (according to another report) and was stopped for a traffic violation. Her resistance appears to be primarily verbal. Any physical resistance appears to be de minimis. This is not a felony stop.

Andrew Leonard was watching television with his wife ...when police burst through the front door of his North Baltimore home. He was handcuffed, plopped in a chair and told to keep quiet as officers rifled through the house, then interrogated for 15 minutes about drugs and a dealer he knew nothing about. As it turned out, police had the wrong house. The man they were looking for lived two doors down.

Jackboots jail Airman in Des Moines for toy "weapon." Submitted by Dr. John Libby

Sunday evening (May 28, 2006) , a newly graduated Airman, Patrick Thompson, was arrested and jailed for "unlawfully carrying a concealed weapon". Airman Thompson sat in a jail cell on Memorial Day, instead of eating BBQ with his family before departing to his first duty station.

Sunday, Thompson, some fellow Air Force graduates, and Thompson's kid brother went to Wal-Mart. There they purchased a variety of Air-Soft toy guns. They returned to Thompson's parent's home for a final boyhood game of "army" or "cops and robbers". Soon, a "concerned neighbor" called police to report "people with guns".

Police swarmed through the neighborhood. Airman Thompson was found behind a garage where he'd been hiding from his fellow players. He was carrying a clear-plastic M-4 toy rifle and a clear-plastic M-9 pistol. Both toys were equipped with federally mandated orange muzzles.

Thompson was arrested and jailed. A spokesman for the Des Moines PD stated, "We take all such calls very seriously because we never know what we're going to run into." The spokesman also stated that the airman was jailed "...because we make no exceptions in cases involving weapons".

In Iowa, Air-Soft toys may be purchased by anyone over sixteen years of age. It takes very creative reasoning to classify them as a "firearm" under the Iowa Code. Only the blind would be unable to discern the toys used by these boys from real firearms.

The "zero-tolerance police" of Des Moines recently made headlines when one of their undercover officers drove his unmarked police car, through a construction zone, at speeds over 100mph, while under the influence of alcohol. The officer was stopped by members of the West Des Moines PD. He was released to his sergeant without formal charges being filed.

Until every Iowan is armed, there is no "equal protection". The police are uniformly armed. We are not. If you're going to arm one group of idiots, you must arm them all. It's only fair.

Is it paranoia? A chronicle of abuse at the hands of the police state and militarized law enforcement.
